TED Ideas: 6 tips to help you adjust going back to the office.

November 12, 2021 Rebecca Henderson

Our working situations have changed dramatically since early 2020. The COVID-19 pandemic caused many people to lose their jobs, and companies around the world made the move to remote work. Over the past year, we’ve mastered the bed-to-Zoom commute: We can be up, presentably dressed (our top half at least), hydrated, caffeinated and in front of the screen in minutes.

But as more of us are being asked to go back to in-person workplaces, surveys show that employees are feeling anxious about returning to the office. How can we make this transition easier?

Featuring expertise from Rebecca Henderson, CEO of Randstad Global Businesses and executive board member, TED Ideas shares 6 tips for making the return to the office easier, including showing compassion, setting realistic expectations, setting boundaries and more.

“We’re not going back to what it was pre-pandemic. There are going to be limitations on how people will be getting together,” says Henderson.
