The company is also aggressively innovating in areas of connectivity, mobility, autonomous vehicles, the customer experience and data and analytics. The company's talent acquisition team needed to ensure a clear path for continuous improvement in securing critical skills as the labor market evolves. While some changes to the process could yield improvement, a new approach to talent acquisition would be needed to keep it at the forefront of a competitive market. This approach would be driven by a strategic RPO partnership. Key challenges and areas of demand include: • stakeholder trust: The relationship among hiring managers, the HR community, talent leadership and the RPO organization required a new approach to reinforce realistic expectations and enhance credibility and trust. Communication and flexibility on the part of the RPO provider would be critical for success. • hiring pause followed by rapid ramp-up: At the outset of the new relationship, a hiring pause created the first test of Randstad Sourceright's ability to scale according to demand. Just three months later, hiring rapidly expanded, testing the RPO again. Both challenges were addressed quickly and effectively by Randstad Sourceright. • talent scarcity: Quality engineering, IT and manufacturing skills are a key to an effective workforce. Competing for such talent, in industry-intensive locations, required an active recruiting partner that would employ best practices. This included strategies related to veteran recruiting, as well as advanced, high-touch candidate engagement. • static recruiting capability: Staying competitive required a renewed dedication to innovation.
