SHRM: tax law is prompting enhancements, U.S. companies say.

February 9, 2018

The “Tax Cuts and Jobs Act” of December 2017 is prompting some companies to enhance their workplaces in ways that improve the overall talent experience – for new and established employees alike.

These enhancements can come in the form of pay and benefits, but they can also extend to HR technologies and processes. "Record low unemployment levels and a growing skills gap are driving employers to focus on improving their overall workplace experience so they can retain top employees and attract potential talent," said Rebecca Henderson, CEO at Randstad Sourceright.

According to Randstad Sourceright’s 2018 Talent Trends Report, over half of 800 global C-suite and human capital leaders surveyed intend to invest in technology that will help create a more desirable workplace experience. Companies are taking stock of what they currently offer and what they can do better with additional funds. Investing in people remains a priority for employers. How they choose to do so depends on their overall business strategy and talent roadmap.
