Yahoo!news: it’s a job seekers market.

With the talent supply tighter than it has been in decades, employers are looking for different ways to attract candidates, including outsourcing their talent acquisition process.

“It's certainly a job seekers market at the moment,” says Mike Smith, global CEO of Randstad Sourceright. “... each and every one of my employees is thinking about what work-life balance means for them, what flexibility means for them in a different way, and the silver bullet approach is not solving that, leading to the approaches that we're now starting to see.”

One approach that Smith mentions is challenging the idea of minimum job requirements, specifically when viewed through the lens of diversity, equity and inclusion. Increased flexibility in specifications can open up new talent pools previously not thought of when hiring for in-demand skills.

Smith advises employers to ask themselves: “How can I offer a value proposition that really stands out in the market and helps me get those critical skills that are going to allow us to drive growth?”
