SHRM: the role of HR leadership in organizational success.

June 29, 2018 Sue Marcus

As the world of work becomes increasingly complex, HR leaders have an opportunity to help revolutionize the worker-employer relationship.

That’s because the C-suite is looking to HR to drive the achievement of organizational objectives through forward-thinking talent strategies. Recent Talent Trends research from Randstad Sourceright shows that 78% of C-suite and HR leaders say that the primary goal of their talent strategy is to have a measurable impact on business performance – a 20% increase from 2016 numbers.

This elevated role for HR comes during a period of talent scarcity, marked by an unprecedented skills gap and a trend toward flexible work arrangements. At this same time, however, HR also has the advantage of having access to innovative technologies that are designed to improve talent management: for example, predictive analytics, automation and artificial intelligence (AI). An overwhelming majority (87%) of those surveyed believe that HR tech is enhancing the company’s ability to attract, engage and retain the right talent.

Sue Marcus, executive vice president, RPO for Randstad Sourceright North America, writes that with “growing recognition of the value of a holistic talent strategy, now is the time for HR leaders across industries to seize their opportunity and drive organizational strategy.”
