Recruiting Daily Advisor: quantity is out, quality of hire is in.

September 3, 2018 Sue Marcus

Human resources professionals and HR technologies are extremely adept at measuring quantity of hires, time to hire and related metrics. But those numbers only tell part of the story. What continues to be more difficult is measuring the quality of those hires.

According to Randstad Sourceright’s 2018 Talent Trends Report, quality of hire metrics are becoming increasingly important to talent leaders, as more employers look to improve their recruitment efforts. Not only do companies need to determine how to track and measure these results, but they also need to define what quality of hire actually means within their respective organization. One way to do this is to benchmark candidates against the skill sets of top performers.

Sue Marcus, Randstad Sourceright EVP of recruitment process outsourcing (RPO) for North America, advises that “companies should more actively monitor quality of hires because ultimately it will lead to better business results. To excel in today’s competitive environment, it’s a must-do activity.”
