Life Science Leader: 4 strategies for overcoming talent scarcity.

The recession-proof life sciences sector continues to see rapid growth post-pandemic. Yet, talent scarcity is a major pain point, especially for companies that rely on hiring talent to drive innovation and improve lives. As global demand grows for specialized technical skills in AI, machine learning and data science, competition is fierce.

To compete for talent both within and outside their industry, companies are looking at four talent trends to future-proof their workforce strategies.

In the wake of the pandemic, purpose and meaning have emerged as critical considerations. One-third of all workers suggest they would accept lower compensation for a job that contributed toward society, according to Randstad’s Workmonitor global research.

Creating a better talent experience is also top of mind. More than three-quarters (77%) of all life sciences and pharma leaders surveyed are focused on improving flexible work arrangements, compensation and benefits, employee well-being and diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI), according to Randstad Sourceright’s 2022 Talent Trends research.
