Hunt Scanlon: new ways to manage human capital.

November 15, 2019

Today’s workforce continues to transform in response to an expanding human cloud of on-demand talent and shifting business challenges. This creates an opportunity for companies to change the way they manage their human capital for the best results.

In a recent survey of 800 talent leaders in 17 countries, Randstad Sourceright discovered that most human capital leaders were looking at activating a total talent management approach – either by transforming their internal practices or by engaging an external integrated talent solutions provider. The ultimate objective being to take a more strategic approach to HR planning and bring better alignment with overarching business goals.

Total talent management helps companies make the most of their human capital, whether permanent employees or contingent labor. This model also takes non-human resources – including AI and robots – into consideration. By taking a holistic approach to identifying what type of talent is needed, companies are hiring for the work that needs to be done, versus simply attempting to fill open jobs.

Companies that have already embraced a total talent model are benefitting from broader access to all worker classifications, faster delivery on staffing needs, increased levels of hiring manager satisfaction, and greater transparency and cost effectiveness.
