Cheddar: rejoining the workforce amid the pandemic.

June 23, 2020

While millions of people in the U.S. continue to search for new job opportunities due to COVID-19 lockdowns, some industries are ramping up hiring and many businesses are beginning to reopen. What should job seekers do to rejoin the workforce? Which industries are hiring? What jobs are most in demand?

These are some of the topics Rebecca Henderson, CEO of Randstad Global Businesses, discusses with Hena Doba of Cheddar.

To make themselves stand out and be noticed by companies and recruiters, Henderson advises job seekers to build their personal brand. She suggests setting up and updating LinkedIn profiles; activating their personal networks; and reaching out to coworkers, former colleagues, friends and family members to see if they can make introductions.

Although unemployment numbers remain high, Henderson notes that the healthcare, e-commerce and logistics sectors are still actively hiring. Software engineers, sales and customer services professionals with an e-commerce background are particularly sought after right now.
