TechRepublic: workplace diversity & inclusion remain top priority.

October 2, 2019

Research findings from Randstad Sourceright’s 2019 Talent Trends survey show that freelancers and contractors want a lot of the same things as prospective full-time hires. Most notably, they expect an inclusive and diverse workplace. In fact, 72% of permanent talent and 71% of contingent talent surveyed highlighted the importance of diversity and inclusion in choosing an employer.

"The expectations employees have of their employer are evolving and our latest survey shows just how important diversity has become to prospective hires," says Rebecca Henderson, CEO of Randstad Global Businesses and executive board member. "Employers looking to attract top talent must focus on communicating how much they value people and diverse perspectives.”

The modern workforce will continue to grow into the decade ahead, with an increasing number of freelancers and contractors on the market. There are many ways to meet these candidates’ current and future demands for an inclusive workplace, including the implementation of technologies that minimize unconscious bias and otherwise support workforce diversity.
