looking towards a future driven by change.

From facilitating a Roundtable on “Online Staffing and the Contingent Workforce,” to attending fun and speedy Connect sessions, Randstad Sourceright was proud to be a Global Sponsor at this year’s CWS Summit.

Back in Berlin for the first time in three years, the CWS Summit took place April 26-27 and welcomed over 400 attendees. Some of the biggest brands and employers attended the event to update their know-how, gain new insights and exchange views and experiences with colleagues from other companies.

One of the major themes at CWS Summit was centered around the topic of change, particularly areas such as legislation, technology and management. But what does that mean from the perspective of a company or individual in an organization (e.g., procurement)?

Here are some key takeaways from the conference:

legislation updates

Throughout the past decade, Germany has developed one of the most successful staffing industries in Europe. But on April 1, 2017 a reform on the temporary labor law (the German Temporary Staffing Act) raised some questions.

What’s changed? In short, the new law has made the use of temporary labor more restrictive, favoring the flexworker when it comes to payment and treatment. Along with the reform, penalties were also modified, penalizing companies that do not follow the new rules and regulations.

Your first step to complying with the Act is understanding its requirements. While your in-house HR teams might be up to the task, they may not have time to fully commit to ensuring compliance. Find out how a Managed Services Program (MSP) can help your company get the talent it needs while supporting compliance. technology continues to evolve

How important is technology today? What can a proper vendor management system (VMS) deliver and how long does it take to implement? These questions were covered in various presentations and workshops in which VMS providers and clients demonstrated the capabilities of different systems and highlighted the changes that organizations experience through implementation.

Human capital leaders often tell us that they’re spending more time researching, evaluating and implementing HR technologies. For example, a freelance management system (FMS) can help you directly source talent; however, integrating such a platform with your Vendor Management System (VMS) can be challenging and time consuming. MSP providers have emerged as a critical element to the solution for an employer’s technology dilemma. Read how they can provide strategic advice on how to integrate technologies as MSP programs mature.

change for the organization

What influence will an MSP program have on your organization? Who will it impact and how will those people be affected? As employers consider the many benefits of an MSP solution, they also understand that internal processes will transform to centralize management and add greater visibility.

Supplier relationships will change, so say “goodbye” to maverick buying. A new supplier base, transparency and determined contracts due to the legal changes will have a major impact on organizations and the way in which they will administer procurement in the future.
