According to Randstad Sourceright’s COVID-19 Surveillance Report, 50% of employers in the U.S. and Canada believe that employees are more productive in their homes than in a physical office. As the pandemic situation continues to evolve, businesses in North America anticipate that 49% of their staff will continue working remotely into 2021. What does this mean to employee benefits packages?
“The pandemic has truly transformed what it means to be a good employer and the ways in which successful companies look after their people,” writes Rebecca Henderson, CEO of Randstad Global Businesses.
Henderson suggests that employers should survey their existing workforce to find out what benefits they value the most and adjust accordingly. For example, flexible working, paid time off and health coverage are possibly some of the benefits that require re-examination.
Upskilling and reskilling opportunities are also becoming increasingly important, as organizations need to accelerate their digital transformation to operate virtually, creating the need for new skills.
