The global pandemic accelerated technology adoption rates around the world. This has forever changed how people work, as well as how human resources does its job in engaging, hiring and supporting workers.
HR tech was readily available pre-pandemic, but the need wasn’t as urgent. Now, it’s a must — from sourcing to interviewing to onboarding and beyond. In fact, one of the areas where HR tech is rapidly changing the game is in diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) during the sourcing, screening and hiring processes.
“Technology has helped to take a lot of human bias out of interviewing,” says Vaishali Shah, vice president of diversity and inclusion at Randstad Sourceright. That’s because technology looks at data, pulling only relevant content from resumes for more equitable comparisons.
HR tech also enables remote processes that can attract a wider candidate pool.
“Virtual recruiting has made it a lot more accessible for people with disabilities to learn about jobs, engage with companies, match up to positions and then actually get selected for positions,” Shah explains.
