HR Dive: boost sourcing and recruitment strategies with hiring events.

In the digital age, do in-person recruitment events really deliver hiring results?

In a recent article, HR Dive highlights recent success from Taco Bell, which turned a job fair into a party. With its collaborative, on-brand approach to the recruitment event, Taco Bell was able to access the talent it needs in particularly tight labor markets. The company’s success reminds us all of the value that a well-executed hiring event can have.

"Individual hiring events are a great branding opportunity for employers because there is no other competition,” said Jim Stroud, global head of sourcing and recruiting strategy for Randstad Sourceright. “The candidates who attend are clearly indicating interest in working for the company.”

According to Stroud, the most successful job fairs are ones where recruiters and hiring managers are empowered to make decisions on the spot. Keeping conversion time short – if not immediate – is a key factor. Not only do candidates walk away knowing they have a job, their sense of well-being can generate positive buzz and a referral pipeline.
