the situation In a competitive mobile services and internet industry, AT&T competes for scarce, skilled technical talent, and it must operate in a sector characterized by heavy competition and high volatility. In 2008, the company engaged Randstad Sourceright in an RPO relationship that initially focused on a heavy demand for technicians, call center/customer service talent and retail associates. The mix of technical and business talent was essential for near-term growth needs, but the strategy would require a unique level of flexibility to ramp up and scale down as needed for specific initiatives. Randstad Sourceright responded with an RPO relationship that has flexed, from full-service recruiting, to on-demand projects and specialized support. the solution • flexible RPO partnership: Throughout the partnership, Randstad Sourceright has provided various RPO models, including end-to-end, project and recruiter on demand solutions. Roles within scope included technicians, call center customer service representatives and retail associates. Today, the partnership remains strong, and the RPO is prepared for expansion as the client's talent demands grow. • presence in 100+ locations: Operations across the U.S. have spanned 50 locations in need of wire technicians, 55 locations hiring outside plant technicians and three locations employing mobility call center hiring. • assessment administration and local/grassroots pipelining: The Randstad Sourceright team has supported AT&T with more than 41,000 hours of assessment proctoring and local pipelining activity. At peak activity, this included more than 300 hiring events, leading to more than 4,000 hires annually. • sourcing SWAT team: To address hiring spikes associated with time-sensitive initiatives, Randstad Sourceright's sourcing SWAT team approach brought together experts in sourcing, technology and candidate care. This solution includes virtual resources and local on-scene recruiters to promote and conduct hiring events. Notably, the SWAT team improved candidate attraction and built talent pools in the vital Gulf Coast region and other critical hard-to-fill markets. • calling campaigns and virtual career fairs: As part of its sourcing SWAT team strategy, the Randstad Sourceright team applied virtual support to complement local grassroots activity, including focused calling campaigns and virtual career fairs. Both efforts resulted in immediate success in building the pipeline for key positions and became a standard part of AT&T's recruiting strategy. • balance of technology and non-technical resources: The solution spans a notable range of technology sophistication, including the use of Randstad Sourceright's recruitment marketing platform and the client's applicant tracking system. Combined with an extensive on-the-ground recruiter and sourcer network, the result is a capability with both a strong physical presence and extensive virtual coverage. © Randstad Sourceright. 2018 human forward. rapid-response RPO keeps AT&T ahead of talent demand spikes.
