A large majority of human capital leaders report business growth during the past 12 months has been at or ahead of expectations, indicating a healthy global market. More importantly, that optimism carries through into the next 12 months. Asked about their company's growth potential, 68% believe they will either grow significantly or slightly, with fewer than 10% concerned about a possible decline. When asked about how growth will occur, 83% expect their existing business to expand. They were also optimistic about participating in new ventures and markets, with about three-quarters anticipating growth. Three takeaways 1. With growth the consensus among human capital leaders, it's likely competition for talent will continue to be fierce for some skill sets, especially in the booming tech and STEM-intensive fields. 2. As companies expand into new businesses and ventures, they will also need to attract talent unfamiliar with their brand in those fields. 3. With a small minority of companies expecting business loss, downsizing doesn't appear to be a major factor for many organizations globally.
