the situation As the company's long-time RPO partner in the U.S., Randstad Sourceright has played a critical role in driving an effective talent acquisition function since 2006. Randstad Sourceright provides scalable support in key areas of process management, from interview scheduling to hiring event coordination. The onboarding process, however, had remained outside of the recruiting partnership, leaving hiring managers and new hires to navigate a complex and varying array of activities with multiple internal contacts. Challenges included: • multiple points of interaction: New hires had to interact with separate contacts regarding IT information, facilities access, I-9 and other onboarding forms, as well as payroll, benefits and relocation. • process confusion: With no established process for coordinating onboarding activity, new hires turned to hiring managers for guidance and answers to questions. This was handled on an individual basis with little process oversight. • time and resource burden: The fragmented onboarding process put a burden on hiring managers to answer questions and provide direction for the new employees. This created a drag on productivity. • low employee and hiring manager satisfaction: The process, while only part of the candidate experience, proved to be a negative influence on candidate satisfaction. Optimizing the post-hire first impression was a strong value opportunity. © Randstad Sourceright. 2018 human forward. Randstad Sourceright turns smart onboarding the business needs In competing for a limited talent supply, the importance of the candidate experience extends well beyond recruiting and selection. It is vital to a company's reputation and ability to attract candidates, and it influences engagement and productivity among new hires. With that in mind, the company set out to improve an ad hoc onboarding process that had become a source of weakness in the candidate and employee experience across U.S. locations. In November 2015, the company turned to its recruitment process outsourcing (RPO) partner, Randstad Sourceright, to provide a strategy that would streamline onboarding for the company, measure the impact on the experience of all stakeholders and set the foundation for expanding the strategy across the global enterprise. "The process went very well. I was happy things just 'magically' happened… compared to the past when you didn't know what actions to take." "My new hire had everything he needed…the new hire process is greatly improved." - hiring managers "The smoothest onboarding process I have ever experienced with any company." "It was great! My onboarding specialist was very easy to work with. I knew exactly where to go to get help. I got settled really quickly with the company." - candidates into a talent advantage for a global manufacturer.
