Talent scarcity has created unparalleled opportunities for freelancers and contractors. Today’s gig workers have a choice of when, where and how they want to work. More importantly, they’re able to more freely choose the companies they want to engage.
According to Randstad Sourceright’s 2019 Talent Trends research, 71% of surveyed contingent professionals find it important to work with companies that are actively creating inclusive and diverse workplaces. “The expectations employees have of their employer are evolving and our latest survey shows just how important diversity has become to prospective hires,” says Rebecca Henderson, CEO, Randstad Global Businesses and executive board member.
This is a key factor for companies that want to continue engaging contingent talent, especially as the freelance talent pool is projected to comprise almost half of the U.S. workforce by 2027. “Employers looking to attract top talent must focus on communicating how much they value people and diverse perspectives, not just the financial value they provide,” continues Henderson.
It’s widely known that companies that invest in diverse workforces tend to perform better and have a stronger bottom line than those who do not.
