Jee Kinnear, global transformation manager — global transformation office

a job that brings out the best in you

Jee Kinnear Randstad Sourceright making work meaningful storyAs global transformation manager, I support Randstad Sourceright on transformation projects within the global structure, together with the rest of the Global Transformation Office (GTO). It is a very diverse role, demanding a very diverse skill set.

One moment I am steering projects and helping teams navigate through their internal networks to get the information they require, and then another moment I am building frameworks for effective communication and process efficiencies, or having project management calls to support account teams to structure their delivery more effectively.

But the best part of my job is the fact that I get to work with people who are passionate about what they do, while having the privilege of working with amazing leaders. Every day feels like we are looking for ways to better ourselves, and thereby our organization.

pioneering work

I am based in Singapore and have been working for Randstad Sourceright since March 2008. I started as a recruiter with Clayton Ford, which was then bought over by Vedior and then later acquired by Randstad. After three and a half years of agency life, I left Randstad as a team leader for Accounting and Finance, and jumped on the green field opportunity to be part of the pioneer team that started Randstad Sourceright in Asia. To have been there from the very beginning has given me so much excitement and experience in doing business.

a leader should be able to ask powerful, forward-moving questions

I believe that when the team feels like they are part of the solution, they own it and are better able to drive the results we want to achieve as a team. Therefore I think it is crucial to ask powerful, forward-moving questions, to listen deeply for points of view and to collaborate through problem-solving and a gathering of minds.

This means that my leadership style does not always have to be authoritative; it can be in service. It can mean that I can take a step back and allow the team to sometimes fail and fail fast. There is no magic formula, but we are better together.

bubble baths, basketball and hanging out with my four children

Jee Kinnear career tips work life balance Randstad SourcerightI have realized over the years that the pursuit of work-life balance takes as much commitment and dedication as with everything else professionally. Time is carved out in my schedule for the people that matter. I love to hang out with my children, cooking and sewing, or playing basketball. I used to be a Chicago Bulls supporter when Michael Jordan played! Another great way to recharge is taking a hot bubble bath, or putting on some nice dance music or R&B and get your groove on!

All along, Randstad Sourceright supports me in having a healthy work-life balance by giving me autonomy. I am free in organizing and coordinating my day as I see fit to meet the expectations and outcomes. It takes constant shifting, the willingness to be flexible and to be guided by passion and drive. I wouldn’t have it any other way.
