a work day with Aaron
As a client services director, based in Shanghai, China, I’m responsible for project start-up and team management, maintaining client business relationships, and setting the process according to the client. I have been working at Randstad Sourceright for 9 years, where I started as a senior recruiter.
At that time, Randstad China’s HR team shared a recruitment process outsourcing (RPO) job opportunity with me, which seemed intriguing because RPO was just starting up in China with tremendous future possibilities. Since then, I have gained a lot of experience in business and comprehensive ability in the past few years — and we’re still growing both in China and the Asia-Pacific (APAC) region!
A typical day for me includes client visits and team meetings to deal with recruitment needs and regular review meetings. We brainstorm almost every day, sharing some interesting updates and market trends — like competitor analysis. What I love most about my job is dealing with people, and listening to and getting new information or opportunities for my job.
Aaron’s recipe for balance
Outside of work, I love traveling and cooking. I have been to many countries, whether on vacation or business trips. I especially love Hong Kong, a city with both Chinese and foreign history. To balance the adventure of travel, cooking is a process-oriented task and trains me in the art of patience in a creative way by making new results through the integration of different foods.
