DETAILS:    According to the Human Capital Capability Gap Index from the Deloitte University Press, nearly one-third of organizations surveyed say their businesses are unprepared to address diversity; only one in five feel fully prepared. To help HR decision-makers address the challenges of meeting future diversity needs, the Greenville Society of Human Resources Management (GSHRM) will host a Diversity Training: Building Your Diversity Toolbox workshop. The Diversity Training workshop is designed to help business leaders transform the concept of diversity into action. At the event, attendees will learn how a diverse workforce adds value to the company and how to leverage diversity to positively impact the bottom line.

In her session, Audra Jenkins, senior director of diversity and compliance at Randstad Sourceright, will share insight on how organizations can build a diverse and inclusive environment for the workforce of tomorrow. The session, Developing a Diversity Pipeline and Succession Planning, will provide a strategic approach to creating a diverse pipeline and linking it to corporate succession planning initiatives. Key areas of focus will include identifying internal and external sources to funnel into the diversity pipeline, linking succession planning into your strategy and the role of cultural competence in building a diverse workforce.

In addition to diversity pipeline development, other topics covered will include promoting vendor diversity, managing generational differences and launching a diversity initiative. The half-day event is open to both SHRM members and non-members. More information can be found at:  http://greenvillehr.org/
