ATLANTA, GA--(Marketwired - Apr 4, 2016) - Randstad Sourceright, a global talent leader, today revealed its findings on how employers can respond to new global workforce challenges, account for the reality of recruiting in today's global environment and develop their talent acquisition strategies accordingly. Drawing from its signature research, the "2016 Talent Trends Report," Randstad Sourceright shares insight on what companies can do to improve how they hire top talent and create agile, highly skilled and productive teams.

"New attitudes about work, increasing talent scarcity and changing demographics are just some of the obstacles employers face in finding the talent their organizations need to be effective," said Tracy Monsour, Vice President of Marketing for Randstad Sourceright in the Americas. "Our Talent Trends Report explores these new challenges and offers insights on how employers can develop effective workforce strategies in this dynamic environment. From leveraging freelance talent, filling key gaps faster and expanding recruiting searches to new markets in order to overcome reverse brain drain and increased talent scarcity, employers can address the dramatic shifts currently happening and prepare for the changes of the future."

Randstad Sourceright's Talent Trends Report is based on the feedback of nearly 400 HR, talent and business leaders from around the world on the challenges impacting how they recruit, engage and hire talent. Based on these findings, Randstad Sourceright identified major trends affecting employers' talent acquisition strategies, including:

  • The Impact of Regulations on Gig Workers: Freelance talent and contractors make up the fastest-growing portion of the global workforce, driving the need for robust platforms to manage how employers connect with gig workers and remain in compliance with rapidly changing regulations around freelance wor.
  • Talent Scarcity Threatens Business: As competition heats up, more CEOs express concern over gaining access to skills; Randstad Sourceright found that 72 percent of survey respondents said talent scarcity has negatively affected their business, and 53 percent say they need additional talent acquisition resources.
  • Rapidly Changing Demographics: With millions of baby boomers set to retire, companies must learn to source talent from around the world to fill key gaps, while capturing and transferring the knowledge of retiring employees as they develop the next-generation of leaders.
  • Reverse Brain Drain Accelerates: Countries that experienced years of losing their best talent to the markets of Western Europe and the United States want their expatriates back and are making greater efforts to demonstrate similar, if not better, career opportunities at home, further contributing to talent scarcity.
  • Employers Look to Global Mobility for Talent: As talent scarcity grows around the world, employers are looking abroad to find individuals with critical skills more than ever; Randstad Sourceright found that more than half (54 percent) of survey respondents have expanded their geographic area of search to find what they consider the perfect talent.
  • Encourage a Start-up Mentality to Target Millennials: Having grown up as digital natives, millennials are noted trendsetters who can bring fresh ideas and drive innovation for the companies that engage them. However, to attract the best and brightest of this generation, employers must create an entrepreneurial culture.
